Episode #53 – Take Your Customers on YOUR Journey

audio blog Content customer journey does your message match the customer marketing messaging old woman young woman drawing small business messaging small business tips Success tips Two Minute Commute

What you see depends on what you are looking for.

Often you need to teach your audience, or even connect the dots.  Don’t take for granted that your audience will have the same interaction.  Your job is to “sell” your product and take your customer on your journey.

Just like the famous sketch that shows an old woman and a young woman… depending on what you focus on, your customers may see something different in your product messaging, take them on YOUR journey.

For example, think about a wedding.  There are so many emotions at this event.  The families are typically so crazy that if a centerpiece is out of place it is the end of the world.  If you are involved in the wedding as a planner, venue host, photographer, DJ, or even any other business, your job is to create positive memories.  It could be your 5th wedding or event that weekend, but for this person it’s their only one.  As such, gain control of the situation with expectations and take them down your path to success.

There are many ways to look at the same drawing, make sure your customer sees the message you have created!

Action Steps
1- Take one product or service you sell. Evaluate the product and the message.  Ask for an outside person to tell you what message they see or what impression it leaves… if their comments are the same as yours, great – if not, make changes.

2-do it again!
