Episode #409 Which Came First the Tiger or the Sign?

“Simplicity is about subtracting the obvious and adding the meaningful.”

So… which came first… the chicken or the egg? Or in the photo’s case, the tiger or the sign?

It’s Friday and I like to share cute little tips to help turn small change into big money.  This photo is from a post I saw online for a boutique.  They make this neat tiger balloon display.

Here’s the deal…

If you walked by you might just think it’s a neat way to draw attraction to their boutique.  And may or may not bring you in.

OR

If they just had their sign that said “We sell balloons” without the tiger… again, you might think.  “A single balloon on a string, that’s nice”

BUT clearly they are artists of balloons!  Using both the amazing display of balloons along with the sign gives you BOTH the sample of what type of balloons they create AND that they sell balloons… OH and it’s a great attention stopper to create floor traffic.

Sometimes obvious is silly.  But in this case, the obvious statement of “we sell balloons” OR the obvious addition of a balloon sampling TOGETHER has a major impact.  It’s a small change that will bring big money.
